In our new fortnightly update, we take a look back at one of our early episodes of event Ninja News to help you avoid an on the day ‘event freak-out’ – all you need to do is make sure you provide each of your guest speakers this important piece of information.
Watch today’s episode for my full description or keep reading for a quick overview.
What is the one piece of important information you should be giving to each of your guest speakers?
To avoid any on the day ‘freak-outs’, you should always tell you guest speakers which size to prepare their PowerPoint presentations in.
Now, you may not know this, but there are two commonly used size formats in which to create PowerPoint presentations…
4:3 format – this is the default format
16:9 format – this one need to be selected in the page set-up of the presentation
The size and resolution of the screen will determine which size you need to use and this is something your venue or Audio Visual team will be able to tell you.
If the presentation isn’t created in the correct format, then there is a risk that on the day, the layout of the presentation – something your guest speaker may have spent A LOT of time trying to get right – is going to be a mess.
Avoid one less headache on event day and make sure your speakers know this one little piece of information well ahead of time.
Do you have any other important things you like to tell your presenters before the big day? I’d love to hear your tips. Leave me a comment here and I’ll be sure to reply.
Keep running events, connecting people and changing lives.
