Flashback: How do I encourage people to make event related decisions quickly?

In our new fortnightly update, we revisit one of our earlier episodes of Event Ninja News to answer Isabella’s question – “How do I encourage people to make event related decisions quickly?”

Watch today’s episode for my full description or keep reading for a quick overview.

What a great question!

As event managers, we often have a heap of balls in the air and throughout the process of organising an event people sometimes just don’t get that their delay in making a decision can be holding up other aspects of the event.

So, I have three ideas when it comes to answering this question…

  1. I believe that the answer you get is only as good as the question you ask – is the question succinct, does the person understand EXACTLY what I am asking and what they need to PROVIDE?
  2. Give CONTEXT – let the person know WHY you are asking the question. Help them to understand why their decision is important and what it will affect down the line.
  3. Go the EXTRA MILE – give them ALL the information they need to make a decision in one clear and simple email or communication. Avoid asking them to refer back, open attachments, etc. etc.

Do you have a tip on how to get answers quickly? I’d love to hear it. Leave me a comment below and I’ll be sure to reply.

Keep running events, connecting people and changing lives.

x Kim
