In our new fortnightly update, we revisit one of our earlier episodes of Event Ninja News to answer Isabella’s question – “How do I encourage people to make event related decisions quickly?”
Watch today’s episode for my full description or keep reading for a quick overview.
What a great question!
As event managers, we often have a heap of balls in the air and throughout the process of organising an event people sometimes just don’t get that their delay in making a decision can be holding up other aspects of the event.
So, I have three ideas when it comes to answering this question…
- I believe that the answer you get is only as good as the question you ask – is the question succinct, does the person understand EXACTLY what I am asking and what they need to PROVIDE?
- Give CONTEXT – let the person know WHY you are asking the question. Help them to understand why their decision is important and what it will affect down the line.
- Go the EXTRA MILE – give them ALL the information they need to make a decision in one clear and simple email or communication. Avoid asking them to refer back, open attachments, etc. etc.
Do you have a tip on how to get answers quickly? I’d love to hear it. Leave me a comment below and I’ll be sure to reply.
Keep running events, connecting people and changing lives.
